Every now and then I go to see a standard Hollywood movie. One with a linear narrative, big name actors, a plotline involving romance, little one liner jokes... you know the deal. Most of the films I normally choose to watch are more Arthouse-y, so I convinced myself that maybe something simple would make a nice change. How wrong I was.

I went to see Valentines Day (a) because of the cast and (b) because it sounded like Love Actually, and I always enjoy that movie. What a waste of my life. Mental note #1 - never again go alone to see a movie all about love. My friend cancelled, so I ended up being by myself in an entire cinema full of couples. The worst part however, was Taylor Swift's acting. Every time she came on screen I actually wanted to inflict pain upon myself, just so I wouldn't have to watch. Even thinking of it now makes me want to punch something, and believe me, I am not a violent person.

Note - I should probably mention that I didn't dislike everything about the film - I did like Jessica Biel's character, and I always like Anne Hathaway. That girl is beautiful.
