Making Christmas mixtapes for friends with varying musical tastes means I now have a collection of well over 100 christmas songs.
Here are some of my faves.
Whether you like traditional songs featuring jingle bells, depressing songs to cry to, reminiscing about the young Michael Jackson, Chrismukkah tunes from the OC, driving music to listen to instead of annoyingly merry radio announcers, learning basic spanish, the only Mariah Carey song that it is socially acceptable to admit liking (just because it was in Love Actually), or if you just really like zooey deschanel (which seems to be the entire population), then there will be something for you here.
Donna and Blitzen - Badly Drawn Boy
Carol of the Bells - The Bird and the Bee
Christmas in Baghdad - Black Lips
Blue Christmas - Bright Eyes
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Coldplay
Christmas is going to the dogs - Eels
A Change at Christmas (Say It Isn't So) - The Flaming Lips
I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus - The Jackson 5
Baby, Please Don't Get Stoned (It's Xmas) - Je Suis France
Last Christmas- Jimmy Eat World
Christmas Reindeer - The Knife
All I Want For Christmas - Mariah Carey
Merry Christmas (I don't want to fight tonight) - The Ramones
Maybe this Christmas - Ron Sexsmith
7 O'Clock News/Silent Night - Simon and Garfunkel
Come On! Let's boogey to the elf dance - Sufjan Stevens
Feliz Navidad- Various Artists
All That I Want - The Weepies
It's Christmas Time - Yo La Tengo
Baby, it's cold outside - Zooey Deschanel & Leon Redbone

The Rules of Attraction. Certain parts made me feel sick (such as Lauren's rape scene), certain parts made me wish I made this film (particularly the Europe trip montage below), and a certain part made me develop an obsession with George Michael's song 'Faith'. On another note, it seems like almost all the films I've been watching lately feature suicide?
Edit: I am too lazy to find new video links, but frack you, vimeo.

Music: Judy is a Punk - Ramones
One of the weirdest (or "quirkiest", to be cliché) movies I've seen. I watched this after seeing and enjoying Rushmore. I like Wes Anderson's style, particularly his use of slow motion. The soundtrack was also a nice bonus surprise. (And I really want that tent)
